Welcome to our NEW website for Northeast Military MOPs! The leadership team has been hard at work for the upcoming MOPs year - we want this to be the best year yet. But first... a little information from our website!
Welcome to Northeast Military MOPs, a group for military and non-military mothers! We are a loving, caring, Christian support group of women celebrating Motherhood! Join us as we meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Northeast United Methodist Church at 4000 Hard Scrabble Road in Columbia, SC. We welcome soon-to-be mothers all the way through mothers of Elementary kids!
Our time together includes: guest speakers, discussion groups, crafts, service projects, breakfast and fellowship with each other. Childcare is provided (ages newborn to kindergarten) with Bible lessons, art, crafts, snack and lots of fun! All our teachers have had a background check and love to be with children. NEW this year, we will also be providing a Homeschool room with supervision for children in First through Sixth grade!
What is MOPs?
MOPS is a grassroots movement that believes moms are world influencers.
We also believe that incubating hearts and giving just-because-hugs can change the course of history. That’s why we connect moms all over the world to a community of women, in their own neighborhoods, who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of motherhood. MOPS groups are rallying women to be more honest, to feel more equipped and to find our identity by journeying along side one another.
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, and by preschoolers we mean kiddos from birth through kindergarten. We know it's a little confusing so let's just stick with "MOPS."
We are moms, and we believe that better moms make a better world.
MOMSnext is a group for mothers of school-age kids. MOPS International believes Better Moms Make a Better World. This is true during the preschool years and beyond. As mothers enter the school years, new challenges and issues arise, but the need for community and hope remains. For this reason we offer MOMSnext, a ministry to mothers of school-age kids. A MOMSnext group is an open, accepting place for all mothers of school-age kids to experience authentic community, personal growth, practical help and spiritual hope.
